Come play card and board games, build with blocks, enjoy dramatic play, arts and crafts, games in the gym, and more, all in a school setting supervised by State of Michigan and Saline Area Schools vetted employees.
Join the Saline Middle School Competitive Cheer Team! Open to 6th–8th grade students ready to build skills, work hard, and compete. Athletes will focus on stunting, jumps, motions, and tumbling in a team-centered environment.
Practices are Monday–Friday, 6:30–8:30 PM, with tumbling on Mondays included in the registration fee. The team will compete in 7–9 competitions, typically held on Thursday evenings or Saturdays, with a possible Friday event. All practices are mandatory.
Michigan competitive cheer has three judged rounds, all performed without music:
Only 16 athletes can compete per round. If 10 qualify for Round 2, then only 14 can be in Round 3. We cannot guarantee every athlete will compete in each round or both rounds, but everyone learns all rounds to stay prepared. We do our best to give each athlete mat time, but we also need to build routines that align with the score sheet to set the team up for success.
There is no set limit on the number of athletes overall. Cuts may or may not happen, depending on skill level and team needs. Early registration helps us plan for the possibility of one or two teams.
