    In this class, your child will review the important math skills needed to be successful in the upcoming year. This class is for students who recently completed 1st grade and are moving into 2nd grade and would benefit from extra review. Our time will be spent working on reviewing previously taught 1st grade concepts, like reading & writing numbers, addition/subtraction strategies, using a number grid, and playing math games. I look forward to building your child's confidence in math. *note there will be no classes July 1st or 2nd.     Be sure to avoid the “summer slide” and maintain the important skills that your child has learned this year! This booster course is intended for any student who has recently completed kindergarten and is moving into first grade, with a focus in reading, writing, and math. There will be time set aside for reading instruction in a small group, reading independently, and one on one with the teacher. Extra practice in foundations of writing as well as basic counting/number sense and addition/subtraction skills will be covered.
