Cross Country Camp - Middle SchoolYouth RecreationSaline’s middle school cross country coaches invite potential middle school cross country runners to attend a pre season training camp. Come join us as we work on various aspects of training and prepare all runners for the upcoming season. Discussions and supplemental work on how to train and race for success, as well as coach led support on setting personal goals for the season will be included. Training groups and organization will be based on the ability and fitness level of each runner all while working together within a team environment.Participants should plan to train between 2 and 4 miles each day based on fitness and experience. PLEASE NOTE: the last day of camp, Friday August 26th, will be a trip to the Nichols Arboretum in Ann Arbor.Complete details will be presented in the coaches’ Week Ahead email close to the first day. Horseback Riding Summer Fun LessonsYouth RecreationOur camp programs ensure the safest and most pleasurable experience with plenty of individual attention for each participant. Our participants will have fun learning all the aspects of riding and horse care. They will ride twice a day. Participants should wear comfortable clothing appropriate for the weather conditions, including shoes or boots with heels, a shirt with sleeves, breeches or stirrup-type pants, and a riding helmet (if you don’t have one, a properly fitted bike helmet may be used instead). You may also want to bring a change of clothes for classroom time. Participants should pack a lunch, drinks and lots of water. An extended summer fun session is $15 per day for a maximum of four additional hours during which students may be dropped off as early as 6 am. Advanced reservations are required for the extended session at 734-476-8346. Register for one day ($80, any day), four days ($245, Monday-Thursday) or five days ($300). Jr Hornet Sideline CheerYouth RecreationCheer on the Jr. Tackle football teams this fall as a member of the sideline cheer team! This program will teach beginner and intermediate cheer skills including stunting, tumbling, motions, and jumps. WaitlistJunior Tackle FootballYouth RecreationContinuing in 2022, we will unite and play against competition from other schools. This program will teach the essential football skills in a team setting and serves as the main feeder program to the Saline Middle School football teams as well as for the teams at Saline High School. Players will learn the offensive and defensive systems put in place by our own legendary head football coach, Joe Palka. Practices will begin in early August and will occur four days a week, with games on Saturdays. Uniform and equipment provided with fee. PLEASE REGISTER FOR THE GRADE THAT YOUR PLAYER WILL BE IN SCHOOL FOR FALL OF 2022 The registration deadline for early registration for VETERANS/RETURNING PLAYERS is April 3rd. Registration opens to the PUBLIC on April 4th. The registration deadline for all is May 25th. Practice days and times are TBD. Please note that the league we play in does have a MAX weight limit - we will ask for each player weight to make sure each player is eligible.The league also requires PHYSICALS to be on file - please make sure you keep this in mind as we will be asking for a copy of your players physical prior to the season.Summer 2022
