  • 6th Grade Wrestling

    6th grade athletes get to be part of our Middle School team and continue to learn the great sport of wrestling as they work their way to the MS wrestling team in 7th and 8th grade. They will practice and compete with us during our Middle School season. Physicals are required. Payment/registration is due online here through Community Education.   • After School Basketball

    This basketball program is designed for all students right after school. Your child will have the opportunity to learn the basic fundamentals of basketball and enhance their current skills in a fun atmosphere. All skill levels are welcome.   • After School Volleyball

    This after school volleyball program is designed to help athletes develop the fundamental skills necessary to advance their play and have fun while learning the sport of volleyball. During the 5 weeks, athletes will have hands-on training that focuses on setting, defense, hitting and serving. Every session is designed to build and challenge each individual player’s skills and abilities while having fun, playing games, learning and connecting to the sport! Class ID: 6029.   • Baton Twirling for Rookies

    Come learn the exciting sport of baton twirling combing athleticism and art. Students will learn some basic twirling skills, bodywork, stretching, and marching. Class ID: 6016. Instructor: Susan Usher
  • Boys Lacrosse Team

    Join Saline Lacrosse this spring! The boys lacrosse program plans to field teams at the 3rd/4th, 5/6th and 7th/8th grade levels.They will practice on a regular basis starting March 16th ending in late May, Mondays-Thursdays with some games during the week and on weekends. A more specific practice and game schedule will be sent out closer to the season. All equipment must be supplied by the athlete. Uniforms will be provided for the players.   • Boys Travel Basketball

    Tryouts for grades 4th-8th boys travel basketball will take place on Sunday, September 14 with the season running November through March. Tryouts for grades 7-8 will be on the same day, but with their season running January through March. 7th and 8th grade boys do not start their season until January due to the middle school season. Tryouts will be at the Saline Middle School Gym. Registration for tryouts is required. There is no fee for tryouts. There is no makeup tryout. 3rd graders are more than welcome to try out for the 4th grade team. Class ID: 6012.
  • Choi Kwang Do Martial Art for Children

    Choi Kwang Do is a dynamic, innovative approach to martial arts training. It is based on traditional martial arts philosophy that emphasizes the idea of personal development being paramount, rather than sports competition.   • Girls Lacrosse Team

    We will have girls lacrosse teams for grades 1st- 4th and 5th-8th. The division of grades for each team will be determined based on the number of players we have join for each grade. Grades 1-2 may be a more instructional team with limited games based on our registration numbers. Grades 1st-5th will only practice 2-3 days a week including games within the week. Join the team to learn the fun, fast paced sport of lacrosse, no experience necessary. Practices may begin as early as March 16th, but a confirmed date will be sent at a later time. Practices and games are held Mon-Thurs for 6th/7th/8th grades teams. All teams practice at Weber-Blaess field. The season will end prior to Memorial Day weekend. Games are usually Tuesday and Thursday evenings, with some weekends. Players must bring a lacrosse stick, eye goggles, and a mouth guard. Uniforms and practice pinnies are provided. Registration is limited and spots fill quickly! A more defined schedule will be sent as we get closer to the season. Registration will end February 1st!   • Girls Travel Basketball

  • HS Co-Ed Rec Basketball League

    The purpose of the Community Education Basketball League is to provide high school students who are not currently participating in interscholastic sports with an opportunity to play basketball. Although competitive by nature, the basketball league will not only provide an opportunity for organized competition, but it will also provide an opportunity for physical activity for both fun and fitness. The league allows the HS students to take responsibility for their own teams - communication with their teammates and Community Education, etc. These are student led teams. Teams are created by the students and will register with their team name. If there is an individual that does not have a team - please let Ashlee Howes know via email at howesa@salineschools.org and we can try to help you get set up with a team - if available. This is only if a team has a spot open. This is not guaranteed. Each individual player must register and pay online! When: Games will be played on SATURDAYS for 8 weeks. 1/10, 1/17, 1/24, 1/31, 2/7, 2/14, 2/21, 2/28 (Tournament Weekend). WE WILL STILL HAVE GAMES OVER MLK DAY WEEKEND AND PRESIDENTS DAY WEEKEND. Fee: $100 per person (includes team shirts, referee fees and all other expenses) Roster: teams must have a minimum of 8 players and a maximum of 12 players Team Name: Saline Community Education has the right to change a team's name - please stay school appropriate. No acronyms are allowed. Team Meeting: There will be a mandatory meeting for all team captains - the meeting will be TBD.     Come learn the basics of track and field while learning life long lessons of teamwork and sportsmanship.   • High School Girls Flag Football

    For girls in grades 9th - 12th through the Detroit Lions Football Education program - we are looking to join the High School Girls Flag Football League once again this spring! This league will begin mid-April and run until late May. A more specific practice and game schedule will be sent out as we get closer to the spring! Uniforms and equipment will be provided.     Kick Start Karate - Winter & Spring 2026

    The Kick Start Karate Program offers traditional martial arts training to children ages 6 through 12 and emphasizes self-defense, physical fitness, conflict resolution, teamwork and anti-kidnapping techniques. This program is designed specifically for children and teaches prevention first. It does not promote active aggressiveness, but teaches children to respect themselves, others and the skills they learn. There is no better program for kids! Wear loose fitting clothes.     Small group lessons with an Aquatic Therapist Safe pool entry and exit, Basic water safety skills, Independent swimming skills, adaptive stroke techniques Recommended for ages 5-11 Dedicated pool space at the Saline Rec Center Parent/caregiver must be in water with swimmer Modified pool equipment and accessible changing rooms available Swimmer must be continent and wear swimwear Classes are $135 for 4 week session, or $102 for a 3 week session (depending on the month), and available for registration through Saline Community Ed. Everyone should learn how to swim, but swimming doesn’t come easily for everyone. This class is adapted for kids who may require specialized or adapted swim instruction, encouraging each swimmer to be comfortable in the water and obtain water safety and swimming skills.
  • Life of a Flow Girl - Taylor Swift Yoga

    Life of a Flow Girl is a beginner kids yoga experience inspired by the fearless creativity and music of Taylor Swift. This isn't just yoga - it's movement, mindfulness and fun all in one! Designed for all children 5 through 12 (Swifties or not!) this class features easy flow sequences with breathwork plus games and a craft. Each session channels the spirit of a Taylor Swift song with grace, gratitude and glitter.
  • Middle School Softball Tryouts

    Middle school softball tryouts will be held on a date TBD at the Saline Middle School gym. Register for tryouts to be on our contact list so we can update you on the tryout date! Girls in grades 6-8 are welcome to try out for the team. Season information will be available at a later time.     Whether you're looking to level up your tennis game or just learning to love the sport, the Saline Middle School Tennis Team invites you to join their growing ranks. Members will building essential skills in a fun, active and encouraging environment with a focus on developing coordination, agility, and sportsmanship through engaging drills, cooperative games, and mtach-style play. We support beginners while offering challenges for more advanced players, helping every student grown in skill and confidence on the court. Our structured practices include USTA recommended drills meant to stimulate match play and build tactical proficiency. Hope to see everyone on the courts!     The middle school track and cross country coaches will be offering a spring conditioning program designed to help track and cross country athletes get in shape and prepare for the spring track season. This positive team environment will focus on building endurance, speed work, improving form and technique as we gear up for the various events of track and field.     This is an introduction to a competitive sport. Kids will get a great workout and meet new friends. This is for 5-8th graders. They will be split into groups of similar skill sets.     Looking for a low-impact, full-body workout? Rowing works 80% of your muscle structure! Are you interested in learning a spring sport? Saline Rowing is offering a winter training program for any interested 6-12th grade student. On Mondays through Fridays, all 6th-12th grade athletes row on the machines from 4:15-5:45 PM.   • Saline Rowing Holiday Challenge

    Explore the sport of rowing and donate meters to a good cause! Saline Rowing is offering a FREE Holiday Rowing experience for all students 6-12th grade. Concept 2, a rowing equipment manufacturer encourages the sport of rowing by donating to a selected group of charities when rowers document their meters. The Kids’ Holiday Challenge allows kids (aged 16 and under) to participate at 50,000 meters.For every person who rows 100k during the challenge, Concept2 will donate $0.02 per kilometer (1000 meters) to the rower’s choice of this year’s charities. Once athletes get beyond 100k, Concept2 will donate $0.04 per additional kilometer. This will be a coached-supervised event as coaches will also be participating in the challenge.   • Sixth Grade Track

    Sixth grade track is for those students who may be interested in running track at the middle school and high school levels, or who simply want to learn more about the sport in a positive team environment. This program will allow sixth graders to participate in most track meets, learn about the various events, and improve their current fitness level. Emphasis will also be placed on goal setting and proper training. A MHSAA pre-participation sports physical dated on or after April 15th is required for all students who participate. Class ID: 6002.
