  • Credit-Based Summer School - Physical Education

    Physical Education is an integral part of the total education process, with the emphasis on building a physically, emotionally, mentally and socially fit community and nation. The mind and body represent a unity in the study. The physical education department offers the basic program to our students. It is extensive in scope with a variety of activities. The program offers team sports including tennis/pickle ball, soccer, flag football, volleyball, badminton, basketball and basic swimming. These activities will vary according to availability of facilities and the weather. Students will be introduced to individual activities and cardiovascular development through the use of heart rate monitors. At the conclusion of this course, the freshman student-athlete will understand, and have the ability to control their heart rate within a positive target heart rate goal. Attendance Policy Students are required to attend all 20 days of the section they are enrolled in. No exceptions. Students who have previously planned vacations or camps that will interfere with the summer school schedule SHOULD NOT ENROLL IN SUMMER SCHOOL Any attendance violation will result in being dropped from the course with no refund and loss of credit. Classes CANNOT be audited Tuition Full payment for Summer School is due at the time of registration. If enrollment does not meet the required minimum, you will receive a full refund and the class will be cancelled. All checks are made payable to “Saline Area Schools.” Credit cards are accepted online. Dropped courses must occur before the 4th day of class (a $75.00 cancellation fee will be retained). Any dropped course on or after the 5th day of class, there will be NO REFUND provided and an “E” grade issued to the student. Summer School Credit Verification Form Registration is not considered complete until the student has submitted the “School Credit Verification Form” (CE will obtain a signature from the school counselor) Students are responsible for determining the impact of Summer School on their graduation requirements.   • Mad Scientist’s Laboratory

    Welcome to the Mad Science Lab – wherever you are! Campers will spend the day learning all the tricks of the trade with a real Mad Scientist! They will learn about physical and chemical reactions that they might encounter in their daily lives. Jr. Scientists will learn to swirl, pour, mix, and shake like a true scientist! They will see reactions in action as they conduct their own experiments with labware, chemistry, and states of matter. The fun and learning will extend beyond the Mad Science Lab when they take home their own Graduated Gear and other items! Instructor: Mad Science of Detroit

    Kick Start Karate - Summer 2024

    The Kick Start Karate Program offers traditional martial arts training to children ages 6 through 12 and emphasizes self-defense, physical fitness, conflict resolution, team work and anti-kidnapping techniques. This program is designed specifically for children and teaches prevention first. It does not promote active aggressiveness, but teaches children to respect themselves, others and the skills they learn. There is no better program for kids! Wear loose fitting clothes. A responsible adult must remain in attendance during class. This class takes place at South-East Martial Arts Academy Saline, 6564 South State Rd, Suite 500, Saline.
  • Junior Tackle Football

    Continuing in Fall of 2024, we will unite and play against competition from other schools. This program will teach the essential football skills in a team setting and serves as the main feeder program to the Saline Middle School football teams as well as for the teams at Saline High School. Players will learn the offensive and defensive systems put in place by our own high school head football coach, Kyle Short. Practices will begin on August 5th and will occur three - four days a week, with games on Saturdays. Uniform and equipment provided with fee. PLEASE REGISTER FOR THE GRADE THAT YOUR PLAYER WILL BE IN SCHOOL FOR FALL OF 2024 RETURNING PLAYERS WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO REGISTER FIRST. The registration deadline for RETURNING PLAYERS is April 19th. Returning players- you will register onto the WAITLIST - once it is confirmed that you are a returning player - the payment you put on file will automatically be run for the registration fee. Registration will open as normal to NEW PLAYERS on April 22nd @ 9AM. The registration deadline for all is May 17th. Practice days and times are TBD. Please note that the league we play in does have a weight limit - we will ask for each player weight to make sure each player is eligible.The league also requires PHYSICALS to be on file - please make sure you keep this in mind as we will be asking for a copy of your players physical prior to the season.   • Boys High School Soccer Camp

    Join one of the most competitive Division 1 soccer programs in the state of Michigan in this three day camp designed to introduce you to the Saline High School Soccer program. You will meet the Saline boys’ soccer coaches, alumni, and players that you’ll be competing with in the fall. What to bring: an updated physical, cleats, shin guards, and water.   • JV/Varsity Football Camp

    This high school football camp is essential for prospective high school football players. Led by our coaching staff, this camp provides a comprehensive training program covering offense, defense, special teams, and essential skills. But it’s more than just mastering plays. Our camp is designed to strengthen players’ sense of team unity, pride, and commitment to excellence. Monday through Thursday throughout the entire summer we will have intensive strength and speed training sessions to enhance your physical fitness and performance on the field. Our coaches will provide detailed information about the strength and speed training sessions. Instructors: HS Football Coaches
