  • Broadway Boot Camp!

    This one-week, full day workshop will cover general techniques useful for musical theater performance, including the aspects of voice, movement, and acting necessary in effectively performing songs and creating characters in musicals.Students will prepare a series of scenes, songs, and production numbers from popular Broadway musicals, based on an original common theme and storyline, culminating in a final performance for family and friends on Friday, June 21, at 7:00 P.M. in the HS Auditorium.Students should bring snacks, a sack lunch, and a water bottle to class every day and wear clothes and shoes that they can move comfortably in!   • Saline Summer Band

    The Saline Summer Band is a large concert band consisting of students entering grades 6-9 in September. Students need to have one year of band experience in their school band program to participate. Students from other school districts are welcome. We spend each class rehearsing fun music from many different styles to perform on a concert and ice cream social on Thursday evening, July 25th. We are booked to play the National Anthem for a Detroit Tigers game on July 11th! Come have fun and bring your friends! Instructor: Janet Sommerfeld
  • Summer Orchestra

    Saline Community Ed will be offering Summer Orchestra four days a week at Saline High School from 9:30-10:30am. Class will be meeting Monday-Thursday from June 17th until July 25th (no class on July 3rd/4th). This class is ideal for students who have 1-4 years of school orchestra experience who are looking for a fun, supportive environment to make music. Students that participate will be sure to have their skills sharpened and their musicianship challenged in group rehearsals and performance. Additional activities could include the Ice Cream Social Concert on July 25th, fun field trips, and performing the national anthem at a sporting event. Instructor: Matthew Briere
